Polygokingiasides A and B: Two New Spirostane Glycosides From the Roots of <i>Polygonatum kingianum</i> With Nitric Oxide Inhibitory Activity

Two new spirostane glycosides, named polygokingiaside A (1) and B (2), 6 known (25 R)-26- O-( β-d-glucopyranosyl)-furost-5-en-3 β,22 α,26-triol 3- O-β-d-glucopyranosyl-(1→4)- β-d-galactopyranoside (3), S)-26- O-β-d-glucopyranosyl-(1→2)- β-d-glucopyranosyl-(1→4)- (4), (5), (23 S,25 R)-spirostan-5-en-3 β,23-dihydroxy-12-one-3- (6), (24 β,24-dihydroxy-12-one-3- (7), β-hydroxy-12-one-3- (8), were isolated from the roots of Polygonatum kingianum Collett &amp; Hemsl. (Asparagaceae). Their structures determined by extensive analysis high-resolution electron spray ionization mass spectrometry nuclear magnetic resonance spectral data, as well comparison data with those reported in literature. Anti-inflammatory activity compounds 1-8 was evaluated their inhibition nitric oxide (NO) production lipopolysaccharide (LPS)-stimulated RAW 264.7 cells. At a concentration 20 µM, exhibited modest inhibitory effect on NO LPS-stimulated RAW246.7 cells values ranging 9.5 ± 0.8% to 33.8 2.1%.
